Penguins…. we love them. Who couldn’t? They are the mascot of Antarctica. There are millions of them there. About four species breed on the Antarctic continent itself. The smallest are the Adelies that stand at around just 70cm high. The biggest are the Emperor Penguins, who can be up to 130cm tall. Then there are the cute Gentoos and noisy Chinstraps. Whilst they look cute, penguins are pretty tough to manage to survive in Antarctica with temperatures down to -65 degrees and windspeeds up to 112 miles per hour.

Yes Nick I am excited by penguins too. We saw some in Chile whilst we were waiting for the weather to be ok to fly in. But we haven’t seen any in Antarctica as we are in the wrong place.

Dr Rogers (surprise surprise!) - not Miss Jones cuz she knocked Sarah Painter over! But Miss Jones WOULD be the best if she had knocked Jake over instead (Only joking Jake).
