The last few days have had ups and downs. We’ve managed to get out and sample many more lichens, but our travels have taken us around all parts of the mountains, and our guide thought it was best to rope up.
It was a good thing too as soon after he almost fell down a hole. I decided to try it on for size! Also in the last few days the weather has really closed in and we’ve had to experience the terrible weather we were expecting would one day hit. We’ve had 30mph winds and so have been forced to have a couple of lazy days in. I’ve caught up on a lot of sleep, read books, and mastered sudoku. We also had a bit of fun with one of the sledges and a shelter which acted like a parachute. It’s getting a bit tedious though. We are all looking forward to more science when the weather gets better.

Hi Cherry. Thanks for the messages it was really good to hear from you. It is a lot of fun but hard work too. Lazing around in a tent isn’t as much fun as you would imagine. It’s quite a small space and you start to get a bit stir crazy after a while. Especially when you eat as many chocolate bars as we do. I’m really glad to hear that you are wishing me luck. I sure do need it. I put my whole leg in a crevasse yesterday.
